SHADOW DAY (CURRENT 8TH GRADERS)
BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2021
The shadow visit is a wonderful way for your student to immerse themselves at St. James for the day. We will match your student with a current Freshman or Sophomore who shares the same interests. Your student will have the opportunity to ask questions, tour our campus, attend classes, and gain insight into the student experience at St. James – not to mention lunch on us. Shadow visits begin September 27, 2021.
Guests have the option of choosing among our pre-selected shadow dates, so we can ensure that they’re experiencing a typical day on our campus.
Visiting the St. James Campus is a must when families are deciding where to attend high school. Walking through the halls of St. James will give you a sense of what life is like to be a student and a part of our Community. Click below to schedule a tour.
TAKE A LOOK TUESDAY
8:45-10:00am | January 18 / February 8
Take a Look Tuesday’s were created to provide an in-person opportunity for parents to learn more about St. James and what we have to offer. Deciding on a high school should be a fun and engaging process and we understand how important this decision is for your family. You and your student are an important part of our Catholic family’s future, as well as St. James Academy.
Please join us in-person for one of the above dates. Pre-registration is required as there will be a maximum allowable capacity.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2021
Meet the St. James student leaders and teachers, tour the campus, learn about tuition planning, and faith infusion throughout the excellent academic and extra-curricular opportunities available to future students! We look forward to working with all students and parents as you work toward a high school choice!
SPRING OPEN HOUSE: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13, 2022
Spring Open House. Info coming soon!
St. James Academy administers the HSPT (High School Placement Test) in order to determine the proper placement of incoming freshman to St. James. The HSPT provides measures in the major skill areas of Reading, Mathematics, Language, and Science, as well as verbal and quantitative cognitive skills. Since the test is standardized at the same time with a national population of entering high school students, the end results are directly comparable on a national level as well as a local level for all test areas.
All incoming freshmen are expected to take the placement test at the high school where they’re most likely to enroll. Students may qualify for awards based on test achievement. If your high school choice is not yet determined at test time, that’s okay; register with a testing location and the high schools will share results later.
SPANISH & LATIN PLACEMENT TEST
An additional placement test is required for students wishing to be placed in Honors Spanish II or Honors Latin II. This test is different from the general placement test given. Test will be given at St. James and students may attend either date. Registration is required.
FRESHMAN ENROLLMENT NIGHT
FRESHMAN ENROLLMENT NIGHT FEBRUARY 15, 2022, 6:30 – 7:45 p.m.
Due to limited space and the content of the evening, the intended audience for this event is Parent Only. Parent(s) can attend to learn about the next steps to finalize enrollment. Sessions with each assigned counselor will help clarify the freshman curriculum.
